In a highly exposed site – across from the shopping centre and the historic synagogue – the building encloses and protects the space of the quiet Piazza Domino from the noise of the trams along the street Plzeňská. As it already took up enough space in the square, which originally was to have been empty, it is very unassuming, almost completely transparent. We wanted it to have a high two-storey glass parterre, allowing foot traffic and views from the street into the Piazza and back. It creates a kind of soft barrier, keeping noise away from the square with its fountains, trees and summer seating, while leaving a visual connection with the busy street. In its layout, it is a universal office building with open floors and a communication core. It has a softly formed silver roof, containing the machinery and covering the slightly retreating top-floor terrace.
