In short animation we show how the area of Prague’s Holešovice could look different.
Different in case it would be possible to design traffic infrastructure along with the urban development – the structure of the city. Railway would disappear underground, along the waterfront suitable for pedestrians, major public institutions can be built. City would consist of streets and squares permeated by public parks and greenery. In the area of Holešovice railway station, partially above its trackage, the district of executive administration can be placed.
At present, the authorities are preparing a project of entire area. There is no open public discussion about the project. As part of the project, the railways run along the surface, leaving the car transport in the Metro area Vltavská practically without the change of current problematic state.
Do we really want it? Couldn't the city be planned so that it is nice too? It is a question not only for politics, but also for us citizens.
