2005 Holport Attic

In a former factory in the district of Holešovice, Standa Fiala first designed a showroom for the company Vitra, and the cafe Holport. Several years later, our client requested us to rebuild the attic spaces into a showroom and office space. When we arrived there, we were entranced by the beautiful, original roof beams. We thought to ourselves that the space should remain as unchanged as possible, as open as it could be. So we simply cleaned it, repaired it and carefully added the volume of a glass box, which rises like a large display case up and out from the mansard roof and looks at the chimney in the courtyard.
