In the lower part of the Royal Garden in Prague Castle, the task was to define the course of the new foot route from the Ballgame Hall (Míčovna) to the Chotek Gardens, and to give the entire area a more cultured appearance. The essential part of our work was organizing and expanding the chaotically constructed infrastructure. For the surface of the path, we put in new pavement of Barchovice gneiss, referring to the design of the garden’s upper part created by architect Pavel Janák in the 1950s. We also designed a number of doors, benches and the staircase into the Figuerie. What pleases us the most is that everything looks as if it has always been there, that people really don’t notice it.
