The client wished to reconstruct a Classicist villa within the complex of the Prague Castle as a restaurant and wine-cellar, and to renew the historic St. Wenceslas vineyard on the adjoining slopes. The villa has an interestingly articulated space across four levels, with extensive cellars below and rooms above with an exceptional view of the city. Our task, in addition to the restoration of the historic structure, was to design an addition for new technical equipment and expand the area for guests. Outside, we created a modern pergola for al-fresco dining and two small entrance structures in the upper and lower parts of the garden, which remains accessible to visitors passing through the Castle.
